My inspiration for being frugal

I love knowing that I have enough "stuff" stockpiled so that I will never worry about running out of shampoo or hair dye. Knowing that I can help my friends out if they should ever run low on such things also gives me the warm fuzzies. With Refund Cents you discover that if everyone pools all of their info, EVERYONE comes out ahead. I LOVE discovering special deals (often unadvertised) at places like Walgreens, WalMart and grocery stores. They even have a trading board for trading unwanted coupons and forms. If you are interested, check them out here: http://refundcents.com/subscriptions.htm?REFID=D25P

Disclaimer: Yes, I get a small referral if you join but you can do the exact same thing if you join. Also, I was a member of Refund Cents LONG before I began blogging. This is not something I want people to join just so I can get referrals from. I honestly believe that this website pays for itself within weeks! I actually LOSE money when I let my membership lapse because I get such great deals.
Handmade soap giveaway!!

I recently discovered www.etsy.com and made my first purchase of homemade soap. These soaps smell wonderful and don't dry my skin out. I love them!

Since making my purchase, I discovered that this particular Etsy vendor has their own blog and is now offering a giveaway for a soap and soap dish gift set along with a free lip balm. Although not everyone will win a free set, the prices are affordable enough that you can try 2 or 3 or 4 without any financial guilt. Yes, I try to be super frugal, but everyone needs to be pampered sometimes to feel better about themselves. If you don't do it for yourself, think about what great Mother's Day or graduation presents these will make! Visit Pixie Soap and decide which scent you would like to win, then visit the owner's blog here and enter to win.

For every item purchased, you get another entry!

It's been HOW long since I posted?

Oh, I cannot believe this! My last post was over 40 days ago. That is absurd!

I officially am down to my last 8-10 weeks of school before I FINALLY get that BA I've been working on for EIGHTEEN years (off and on, of course). I really want to go to graduate school, but it looks like that's on hold for now. Hubby and I are thinking that for now, we need to get me a job while we can. Whenever the economy starts straightening out again I can return.

There's a couple of English teaching jobs within an hour and a half of where we're living, so I'm hopeful that I can get a job in time for entering the alternative certification program or possibly even the MAT program this summer.
